Known to many as Kayleigh in Peter Kay’s Car Share, actor and comedy writer Sian Gibson spoke to Kylie Pentelow to discuss her hit 91¸£ÀûÉç comedy The Power of Parker which returns for a second series this week.

Set in 90s Stockport, the show centres around electrical shop owner Martin Parker, his devoted mistress of 25 years, Kath, played by Sian, and his wife – her sister Diane.

Sian discussed what she sees are the real-life difficulties of being a middle-aged woman, looking after older parents, younger children and bringing that real experience into her writing.
