‘Loud bang like a gunshot’ as house exploded
Joel Simpson lives near the house in Bedford and saw what happened. One person was killed in the explosion believed to have been caused by natural gas. Earlier in the year, the road was cordoned off when work to drill a borehole for a ground-source heat pump struck a pocket of natural gas. Mr Simpson was talking the 91¸£ÀûÉç’s Helen Mulroy.
