Top Boy: ‘It’s gritty and it’s real and it’s raw and people can relate to it’
Have you watched the new series of Top Boy? The show shines a light on the reality of life for those involved in London drug gangs and the people who live around them. The new series covers social issues such as deportation, homophobia and child neglect.
One character, Lauryn, has her experience of domestic violence played out as a central storyline. Saffron Hocking, who played Lauryn on the show, joined 91¸£ÀûÉç Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour to discuss why it was so important to include and how she prepared for her portrayal of the issue.
