Spoony's live Good Groove Mix and Fabio & Grooverider explore V&A East's 'The Music Is Black' exhibition
Feelgood tunes to groove and soothe your soul. Plus, Spoony hits the decks, live in the studio, for The Good Groove mix!
Feelgood favourites, hidden gems and fresh new tunes to groove and soothe you. DJ Spoony serves up a brilliant selection of classic soul, disco, soulful house, R&B, funk, UK garage, reggae, hip-hop, doo-wop, yacht rock and more. Our genial host also gives his ‘New 2 Spoon’ record of the week a final spin this week.
Spoony takes us once more to the V&A East Museum's 'The Music Is Black' exhibition. This time we are in the jungle and drum 'n' bass section where there are items like the Roland TB303 bass machine used by A Guy Called Gerald, and a Vocoder used by Adam F alongside an item donated by legendary DJs Fabio and Grooverider, who happen to be our virtual guides tonight! You can hear the full selection of items chosen by Spoony, including Dame Shirley Bassey's gold dress, outifts worn by rap duo The Cookie Crew, a photo of Fela Kuti and many more by searching "DJ Spoony's selection" in 91¸£ÀûÉç Sounds.
Thursday is the new Friday as Spoony takes to the decks live in the studio for a twenty-minute ‘Good Groove Mix’, in hour 2.
Our genial host wraps things up with a life-affirming ‘Midnight Feast’ track. Think big production, lush orchestration and the best voices in the business.
