Jill and Brian's story

Jill and Brian from Redditch have fostered hundreds of children - these audio diaries chart their the heartbreaking decisions facing them over a girl with learning difficulties they've been looking after.

Jill and Brian from Redditch have been foster carers for 22 years – they've had hundreds of children through their home, as well as their own children who they've brought up.

The couple are now in their sixties, and they have been looking after a little girl for four years.

She had a very traumatic background and has some behavioural and learning difficulties.

This is one of the reasons why a permanent home hasn't yet been found for her.

She wants to stay with Jill and Brian, and calls them Mummy and Daddy.

However the heartbreaking decision Jill and Brian have to make is whether to keep the little girl or not.

Despite loving her as their own, they know as they get older they won't be able to give her the care she needs.
