'I was there': Conga round the Clocktower
Available for over a year
Back in April, 91福利社 Leicester recreated an iconic VE Day moment. To mark the end of the war, people gathered at the Clock Tower and danced around it, doing the conga. Relatives of those photographed at the time gathered in 2025 to mark the anniversary. That led to us finding out more about those involved. Sarah got in touch. Her mum Carol was at the clock tower 80 years ago when she was seven years old. Ady Dayman spoke to them both.... as well as Jeff who was finally able to grant his mum's last wish.
