Today

Available for over a year

A High Court ruling has found that police forces cannot sack officers accused of serious offences such as rape and sexual harassment who have failed their vetting - which the head of the Metropolitan Police force says has put policing in a hopeless position. Speaking to Today's Emma Barnett, Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley says the new rules that would allow forces to terminate those accused is needed "in weeks", but civil servants have "dragged their feet" in implementing it.
