The final season of digging at this important site near Brampton has finished which brings to a close nearly a century of discoveries. Archaeologists have established a timeline from construction in the 2nd century to its desertion in the 6th century. Many questions still remain to be answered, but finds show how remarkably well preserved the fort is, and they give an insight into life and death on the Roman frontier.
