It began with a bent needle, and ended with Redditch on the map. Now Gary Mills says he's the last man standing using traditional techniques to make fishing equipment which is sold all over the world, from the historic hub of Worcestershire! The giants of the trade, Partridge, Shakespeare, Allcock and Youngs have long left Redditch behind, or disappeared altogether. But Gary still makes his reels from his unit on the Redditch Road in Studley. Malcolm Boyden finds out about the history of this industry, its roots in Worcestershire, and his unique fishing tackle museum, with some incredible finds.
