Twenty-five-year-old Kenyan baker Barnabas Ndiritu fulfilled a childhood dream to be a pastry chef when he set up his own bakery in the town of Nyeri in central Kenya. He started his new venture at a particularly challenging time – just as the Covid-19 pandemic was taking hold in the country. He has managed to survive and thrive but says there should be much more support for young entrepreneurs. As Kenya prepares to elect a new president and government, Barnabas has been speaking to Focus on Africa’s Karnie Sharp.
