Rising sea levels force Ghanaians to relocate

Focus on Africa

Available for over a year

The melting of the world's icecaps is leading to an implacable rise of global sea levels, spelling havoc for many coastal towns around the world. Our reporter, Thomas Naadi, visits the village of Agorkordzi, along the coast of Ghana's Volta region. Here, constant land erosion is sweeping away coconut trees precious for business, schools and homes. A tragic phenomenon that, in one week alone, has displaced around 3000 people.
