Tensions are rising on all sides as the European Union and Turkey try to negotiate renewed funding for a migration cooperation agreement made at the height of the migrant crisis in 2016. The agreement became known as the "Turkey-EU migration deal" and limited the number of asylum seekers arriving on EU shores. The 91¸£ÀûÉç’s Frey Lindsay speaks with migration experts Olivia Sundberg Diez and Martin Ruhs about the background and politics of the deal, and with Turkish President Erdogan’s chief adviser, Ä°brahim Kalın, about changes the Turkish government wants before they'll agree to keep the deal going.
