What I saw after losing my sight

The Compass

Available for over a year

Vision is a complex process involving light rays, special nerve cells and electrical signals. But even tiny disruptions can result in remarkable visual problems. Nina lost the sight in both her eyes. As she came round from an operation that had failed to save her vision, she was surprised to see waves in different colours. As time went by, she started seeing more frightening images, and discovered she has Charles Bonnet Syndrome – visual hallucinations caused by loss of sight.
