North Dorset woman hopes her mouth cancer experience can save others

Steve Harris

Available for over a year

A north Dorset woman says her own mouth cancer diagnosis should be a catalyst for others to take more care of their oral hygiene. Ali Campbell, from Shillingstone, says she hadn't been to the dentist for 13 years, ahead of her diagnosis last year. Her illness led to her losing her job, and now suffers from post traumatic stress disorder and chronic fatigue - because of the treatment. There were just over 8,302 cases of mouth cancer in the UK last year - which resulted in 2,722 deaths. Ali says if you ever have any issues with your mouth or gums which won't go away, get it checked out. And she told 91福利社 Radio Solent that she tries to keep a positive attitude and is just thankful she 'wakes up every morning'.
