The Mexican man who planted a forest

Outlook

Available for over a year

Monarch butterflies are a deep orange with black, tiger-like stripes, and white spots along the edges of their wings. They look spectacular - especially during their annual migration from Canada, thousands of miles south to Mexico. They owe a lot to one man, Jose Luis Alvarez, for their survival. Saskia Edwards has been to meet him in the forests of Mexico. (Photo credit: Fernando Laposse.)
