Hawaii.... Beautiful beaches, clear blue water and hula dancing. It's one of the most breath taking destinations in the world. And for 2,000 people this weekend, it will definitely leave them short of breath, as they swim 3.86 kilometres, cycle 180.25 kilometres and run 42.20 kilometres in the Ironman World Championships. It is the toughest race in the world. Elizabeth McTernan, will be competing in her first ever Ironman World Championships. Elizabeth is paralysed from the waist down and will be the only female disabled athlete in the race. Linda Ashmore on the other hand, will be racing in her third Championships. The 70 year old started to compete in triathlons and ironman's in her mid 60's, after she overcame breast cancer. (Photo: Left - Elizabeth McTernan / Right - Linda Ashmore)
