Shadow home secretary Diane Abbott has said 鈥渓eading politicians have questions to answer鈥 in the wake of the Grenfell Tower fire in west London. 79 people have died or are missing presumed dead after the blaze which engulfed the tower block last week. The government is under pressure to explain why calls to update fire regulations around tower blocks were ignored. Abbott told 5 live Breakfast: 鈥淸There is] no greater responsibility for the political class than to keep people safe 鈥 if it鈥檚 found they did not listen to parliamentary committees they should consider their position.鈥 This clip is from 5 live Breakfast on Tuesday 20 June 2017.
