UK expats in Spain explain their Brexit fears

World Business Report

Available for over a year

The name "Costa Blanca" was invented by Spanish tourism chiefs as a marketing pitch for British holidaymakers back in the 1950s. And that campaign proved so successful that instead of just visiting the Spanish coastline for a fortnight, over the years many UK citizens have upped sticks and moved there permanently. Around 300,000 British nationals are now registered residents of Spain, making it the most popular destination in Europe for citizens of the United Kingdom. But now that the UK has voted to leave the European Union, what will this mean for those expatriates, many of whom are retired? Guy Hedgecoe reports from the Costa Blanca.
