Children held in custody in England and Wales are twice as likely to have force used against them by staff than they were five years ago, research suggests. A report by charity the Howard League for Penal Reform also suggested some children were being put in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day. Jake Davis, who spent 38 days in Feltham Young Offenders Institution after being convicted of computer hacking, told presenter Martha Kearney what he had experienced.
