Dundas Duncan, Northern Ireland鈥檚 Inspector of Railways, had the job of investigating the Ballymacarrett crash his report was published in June 1945, almost six months after the accident. By this time the death toll had risen to 22 with two of the injured still in hospital. Robin Masefield is the author of a detailed history of the Bangor railway line. John Bennett and Robin discussed the inquiry, the court case and the impact the crash had on the Belfast and Co. Down Railway.
