'Innovation' Underpins the Modern Space Mission

It was blast-off today for a Soyuz rocket in Kazakhstan. On board, the first british astronaut on a mission funded by taxpayers to the International Space Station. Tim Peake joined one Russian and one American astronaut on the mission. During six months in space they'll conduct experiments, testing and using innovative devices for use on the ground. One of the technologies set to be trialled detects mental fatigue by analysing voice communication, for use in the transport industry. Nick Spall, fellow of the British Interplanetary Society told Susannah Streeter more about how the drive for innovation is fuelling the modern space mission.
