Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales has criticised the EU’s “right to be forgotten” law as “troubling” for “freedom of expression”. The landmark ruling, passed in May 2014, allowed Europeans to ask for links to "irrelevant" and outdated personal data to be removed from search engines. "Beginning to regulate what newspapers have said and whether or not we can find history... that's a very difficult and troubling area to start regulating," said Mr Wales.
