Gloucestershire viewers react to the first Muslim family in Coronation Street.

The TV programme Coronation Street has introduced the first ever Muslim family into the soap. Producers of the ITV show - which has been running for over 50 years - have decided to introduce the family of new character Khalid Kal Nasir, with his relatives set to join him on the cobbles later this year. Personal trainer Kal, played by Jimi Mistry, arrived in Weatherfield last month, and he has revealed he is a widower with two children.
