Morpho: Straight to Video (2.53)
Morpho is the Australian duo of avant-jazz guitarist Dave Brown (guitar/bass/samples/treatments/re-structuring/production) and surrealist pop artist David Wadelton (guitar/theremin/synth/vocal/samples/field recordings/structure). They met at art school in the 80s where they formed post-punk group Signals. Dave Brown is also part of the Pateras/Baxter/Brown trio and the group Bucketrider, and he records under the name Candlesnuffer.

Orriel Smith: Winds of Space (2.36)
This comes from a new release on the Trunk Records label, described as 'a small collection of rare, delightful folk oddities for strange adults and maybe their children too'. Winds of Space is from a rare 7-inch single originally released on Tudor Records, a label set up by the American soundtrack composer Philip Lambro, who is also the arranger on this track.

They named the tracks once they heard them back, based on the impressions they created.

Ryukyu Underground consists of Keith Gordon (drums/drum programming/percussion/keyboards/fx), an English teacher living in Okinawa, Japan, and American musician Jon Taylor (guitars/bass/keyboards/drum programming/percussion/fx). This track also features Toru Yonaha (sanshin/koto) and Mika Uchizato (vocals)

Dave Swain is a musician based in County Down, Northern Ireland. This track has received airplay all over the world, and it features the voices of Marta Silbernaglov谩 and Alina Poliakait茅. The lyrics come from genuine internet dating profiles.

Las Malas Amistades: El Country; La Marat贸n De San Vito (3.48)
Las Malas Amistades came together in 1994 at art college in Colombia's capital city Bogot谩. Although they were all music-lovers, none of them could play anything. This never stopped them, though, and not caring for any kind of commercial success, they subsequently released two albums. These have now been put together on this compilation from the label run by the West London record shop Honest Jons, and Blur/Gorillaz man Damon Albarn.

The electronic duo also known as Ed Handley and Andy Turner present a new album. It's described as a 5.1 surround sound Audio Visual album, and has an accompanying DVD showcasing the work of their new collaborator: film and video artist Bob Jaroc. This project has been developed over four years.

The Mile End Ladies String Auxilliary: Sequences of a Warm Front (5.38)
The Mile End Ladies String Auxilliary is named after the area of Montr茅al which is home to most of the city's alternative music community. Beckie Foon (cello) is also in the bands A Silver Mt Zion and Esmerine; Genevieve Heistek (viola) is a member of Sackville and Hanged Up, and Sophie Trudeau (violin) plays in Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

This is a Quintet in 5/4 meter featuring the Weiner-Sabinsky Duo. It comes from a new collection of rare works by Moondog: the blind American street musician also known as Louis Hardin. It is being released to commemorate what would have been his 90th birthday.

Pumajaw: Outside it Blows (3.59)
Pumajaw is a new name for old Mixing It favourites Pinkie Maclure (voice/concertina/organ/coat hangers) and John Wills (guitars/bodhran/lyre/e-bow loops/table). This track is an 'existentialist song-poem' with a meteorological theme.

Brunnen: Rupert Writes a Rainbow (4.17)
Brunnen is a name used by Dutch musician and singer Freek Kinkelaar. He began using it in 1989, and this album brings together songs from the albums he has released in the intervening years. His idea was to combine these songs with abstract soundscapes.
