In April 2016, David Smith was seriously ill with kidney failure and facing dialysis, when his son Lewis stepped forward to become a living donor. Now ten years on, they鈥檙e celebrating their 鈥渒idneyversary鈥� together with a family trip to Valencia and using the moment to shine a light on how powerful living organ donation can be. David and Lewis spoke to Rima Ahmed about that extraordinary decision, what the past decade has meant to them as father and son, and why they鈥檙e encouraging others to consider giving the gift of life.
