‘A godsend for Beales Corner’
Clocking in at £10million, 300metres and five years in the making, what residents have called 'vital' new flood defences in Bewdley have been opened, to protect around 50 homes and 150 businesses.
The area on the east bank of the River Severn has been hit significantly by flooding over recent years.
The work on the Beales Corner Flood Risk Management Scheme saw the town's bridge closed in one direction for more than two years, and had been delayed multiple times.
