Everton’s Cleanest Corner
Once a familiar sight on every street corner, the laundrette might seem like a relic of the past – but in Everton, Kitty’s Launderette is proving otherwise.
Since opening in 2019, it’s become a thriving community-powered space offering not just affordable laundry facilities but also film nights, tea-and-toast mornings, creative events, and more.
Anthony Scott, Community Lead at Kitty’s, shares how the idea came to life after three years of planning and local engagement, how it’s grown into a beloved neighbourhood space, and why they’re now crowdfunding to expand their reach with a new electric van and solar-powered charging. Their goal? To bring laundry and connection to more people across Liverpool.
