The technical definition of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a medical condition where a person has differences in brain development and brain activity. This can cause restlessness, affect concentration and lead to impulsive behaviour. Due to a rise in awareness of ADHD leading to higher demand for medical assessment, Health Oxford has become overwhelmed by an unprecedented number of referrals. To cope with this, they have had to pause new referrals for adults, leaving people across Oxfordshire frustrated.
