Singer and performer Mika was a pen pal to Fran莽oise Hardy. He paid tribute to the French icon. He told Newshour's James Menendez that she may have been a star of the screen and a muse to fashion designers, but her true greatness lay in her ability to write brilliant songs.

"She was a great melodist and a lyricist and that's where it all stems from. The bedrock is writing credible lyrics and music."
