How Barton birthed the Temperance movement
Sally Fairfax explores the story behind the Assembly Rooms in Barton Upon Humber. The Temperance society was formed in the town in 1837, in response to concerns about the effects of excessive alcohol consumption. The Temperance Hall was built in 1843.
