The Tsou people live in mountainous areas of Taiwan. But more frequent droughts and warmer weather are threatening their way of life.

Local producers like Jui-Chiao Chung are already moving from bamboo to coffee. Meanwhile, the mountain flowers that are used to ritualise the community's culture are disappearing. Without the flowers, "God won鈥檛 be able to find us," says Tsou elder, Gao Desheng.

Taiwan is about to hold a presidential election but environmental groups such as Greenpeace have accused the candidates of being "climate snails" and too slow in developing their climate policies.
