Bristol鈥檚 Jimmy Peters England rugby pioneer
Jimmy Peters is famous for being England rugby鈥檚 first black international player but his life was so much more than that fact. He had an incredible life. He was a child circus performer before his father, who was a lion tamer, was mauled to death by his lion. Jimmy was then orphaned before coming to Bristol and becoming one of the greatest rugby players of his generation. Jimmy played the game at the turn of the 20th century and faced obstacles at every turn. Presenter John Inverdale, with the help of those who have studied Jimmy鈥檚 life, investigates this remarkable man.
