Hemedti and Burhan: Who are Sudan's warring generals?
At the heart of the fighting in Sudan are two generals: Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the leader of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), and Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, better known as Hemedti, the head of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
The relationship between the two goes back a long way. Four years ago, they came together to overthrow Sudan's then-military-ruler, Omar al-Bashir.
One man who's met Hemedti is Jerome Tubiana. He works for the French NGO Doctors without Borders. He explains the background to the rivalry between the two generals.
