Roman altar discovered beneath Leicester Cathedral
University of Leicester Archaeological Services have uncovered evidence of a cellar and altar stone from the Roman period.
Thought to be a private shrine or cult room, suggests the site of Leicester Cathedral has seen religious observance for nearly 1,800 years
It's the final discovery of an 18 month archaeological dig that has revealed over 1,100 burials.
