I kept my battle with malaria a secret
In 2015 malaria caused an estimated 429,000 deaths worldwide. That year British athlete Anyika Onuora feared she would become part of that dark statistic. She was hospitalised but within a year Anyika won Olympic bronze as part of the Great Britain 4 x 400 relay team in Rio. All the while keeping her battle with the disease a secret from her team mates. She is now an for ambassador for the charity "Malaria No More"
