The owner of what is believed to be the largest goldfish in the UK has told 5live that he is hoping to sell 鈥楻ocky鈥� the Redcap Oranda to a collector. When speaking on 5live鈥檚 Breakfast programme, Andy Green, who runs Star Fisheries in London, sought to clarify some previously incorrect reports surrounding the size of his fish:

鈥淚t was reported in the press yesterday as nearly 6 inches long, actually it鈥檚 nearly a foot long, and also they said it鈥檚 sort of 4 inches round, but it鈥檚 8 inches round, and It鈥檚 6 inches deep as well so it鈥檚 really a supersize Oranda!鈥�

When asked about whether the goldfish was simply overweight, Andy replied:

鈥淣o, this is a particularly good example and fairly unique example of how an Oranda has grown to this size to be honest. Generally, in this country, they don鈥檛 get anywhere near as big as that鈥�
