The Jockey Club has announced they want to redevelop the Kempton Park racecourse for housing, saying the money raised is essential to re-invest into the industry "for the long-term good of British racing".

But the local council is opposed to the scheme.

Councillor Nick Gething, from Spelthorne Borough Council tells the World at One that given the site is in a greenbelt area, "the proposal is completely inappropriate".
