From New York, Talking Movies reports from the Human Rights Watch Film Festival with a special programme looking at some of best in world cinema focused on human rights abuses and violations. From the plight of asylum seekers and migrants to the difficulties faced by an Afghan rapper who struggled to escape from a forced marriage this international showcase highlights films that reflect a very broad range of human rights transgressions. The Human Rights Watch Film Festival screens in more than 20 cities but Talking Movies will report from New York where all the initial festival programming is done.
