An increasing number of large AI data centres are waiting in the UK energy supply queue - but will meeting that demand derail the road to net zero?

A new generation of 'mega' data centres is poised to be rolled out across the UK, designed to capitalise on the growth of Artificial Intelligence. But although the government is rolling out the red carpet for tech investors, seeing their arrival as essential for growth, Adrian Goldberg asks how powering these centres will affect the UK鈥檚 commitment to net zero energy consumption.
