A patient in Glasgow becomes violent, forcing crewmates Gregg and Bernadette to shelter in an ambulance. Unfortunately, this shocking incident is one that is becoming an everyday reality for paramedics across Scotland, with nearly 200 on-duty staff physically assaulted each year.
In Dundee, paramedic Rebecca and technician Paige treat a patient who has suffered a potentially lethal drug overdose after taking a potent mix of MDMA and heroin. Rebecca and Paige must administer urgent treatment to save the patient鈥檚 life.
Meanwhile, at the ambulance control centre, call handler Jackie takes 999 calls from two road traffic collisions - one in which a motorcyclist suffers a seizure, and another where concerns are raised about a baby. In both cases, Jackie has to keep calm under extraordinary pressure, organising an ambulance response while delivering important instructions to keep the patients safe.
And in Aberdeen, the Special Operations Response Team is sent to help Allison, who has fallen at home and is now displaying the symptoms of a possible stroke. They also attend an expansive wildfire that has required a mass deployment of emergency service personnel.
