Lopa Kothari invites French-Algerian icon Souad Massi into the Music Planet studio to perform tracks from her latest album, Zagate. Since her solo debut in 1998, Massi has established herself as one of the leading female voices of the Maghreb musical world. Her sound defies categorisation, blending traditional Kabyle rhythms with rock and pop sensibilities; and her lyrics, sung in both French and Arabic, touch on themes of freedom, justice, and tolerance.
