Spoony launches Radio 2's 'The Music Is Black' season!

DJ Spoony shines a spotlight on the first artefact he has selected from the V&A East Museum's first landmark exhibition, celebrating Black British Music.

DJ Spoony shines a spotlight on the first artefact he has selected from the V&A East Museum's first landmark exhibition, celebrating Black British Music. With the exhibition's curator Jacqueline Springer, Spoony reflects on his own career and the significance of UK garage, discussing the influential club night Twice as Nice.

In the coming month Spoony will bring his selection of items to life, by enlisting the help of Alesha Dixon, Pauline Black of The Selecter, Level 42's Mark King, Beverley Knight, Femi Koleoso of Ezra Collective, designer Isabell Kristensen, Morcheeba, Omar, The Cookie Crew, The Kingdom Choir's Karen Gibson MBE and Professor James Walvin OBE, Rampage Sounds, Fabio & Grooverider as well as archive of Sir Elton John and Sir Idris Elba! It's all part of the pan 91福利社 'The Music Is Black' season in collaboration with the V&A East Museum.
