Elizabeth Alker with a week of exclusive music-making including a live concert from the Brentano Quartet from Wigmore Hall, performing music by Haydn, Bartok and from American composer Timo Andres.

Also, this week Classical Live explores a world of opera without words, today featuring operatic music by Verdi and Mascagni; we also have exclusive concert recordings from the Portico of Ards in County Down; and following his sad death in February, across the week we鈥檒l hear exclusive performances by the Hungarian pianist and conductor Tam谩s V谩s谩ry. Today鈥檚 programme includes an all-Hungarian performance from Tam谩s V谩s谩ry of Mahler鈥檚 Symphony No.4 with soprano Ingrid Kertesi, and the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Budapest.
