Pulp - Different Class
Sheffield's Pulp take the scenic route to success with 1995's Different Class.
Pulp were an overnight success, 17 years in the making.
The Sheffield band formed in the late 70s, but it wasn't until 1995's Different Class that they became superstars. Released at the height of Britpop, it was a withering look at the class system, spearheaded by a collection of iconic singles that led to Jarvis Cocker becoming an icon.
Of course, it wasn't always plain sailing, and in this episode of Long Player, we look at the ups and downs that Pulp experienced along the way, courting national outrage as they went.
