'Wellies or Rain boots?'
Sean says no-one ever spoke about 鈥榳ellies鈥� when he was growing up鈥攐nly water boots.
鈥淵ou are reminding me of going round the dances in the 1960s,鈥� says William, in Carryduff. Sean has been asking if people spoke about 鈥榳ellies鈥� or 鈥榳ater boots鈥� when they were younger. 鈥淚 was looking for a wife,鈥� says William, who鈥檚 from farming stock. 鈥淚 wanted a girl with the Wellington marks on the backs of her legs. Then you'd know she was a good worker!鈥�
鈥淚 remember the mark on your leg from the water boots,鈥� Sean says. 鈥淏ut no girl ever spotted it or ever asked me about it.鈥�
