Cynthia Erivo: Legendary Voices

Award-winning actress and singer Cynthia Erivo makes her debut at the 91福利社 Proms, paying tribute to singers that have inspired her.

91福利社 Radio 2 pays a visit to the Royal Albert Hall for Cynthia Erivo's 91福利社 Proms debut.

Cynthia Erivo is a creative phenomenon: a London-born, Tony, Grammy and Emmy award-winning actress, singer, songwriter and producer, whose career has taken her from her childhood in South London to the West End and Broadway, and whose recordings have also thrilled audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.

Tonight, backed by the 91福利社 Concert Orchestra she salutes the legendary female voices that have shown her the way: artists such as Nina Simone, Shirley Bassey, Billie Holiday and Gladys Knight. 鈥業 wanted to pay homage to them,鈥� she says. 鈥榃omen who have influenced my sound, the music I鈥檝e listened to, and the way I tell my story.鈥�
