Z

Z: the 26th letter of the alphabet, traditionally pronounced neither zed nor zee but azed, for no reason yet discerned. Zoo is pronounced azoo but other words beginning with z, like zebra, are not.

'We're goin' up til the azoo at Bellevue for til see the zebras.' 'He went til New A-Zealand years ago.' Most really old people in West Belfast could not say a word that started with the letter Z, e.g.
My old Mum used to say, "It's goin' down 'til a zero the night", or "D'ya mind yer cousin from New Azealand?" From: John Straney
