The
celebrations began with stalls selling pumpkin based food. Shops
in the town joined in the fun by putting together window dressing
displays and sculptures involving pumpkins.
Street entertainers provided amusement for shoppers. Pumpkins donated
by David Bowman Ltd and carved by pupils hung in the town centre
ready to light the way for the grand parade.
Live
bands entertained the crowds from 6pm onwards and the Grand Pumpkin
Parade began at 7pm, which all were enthusiastic to join in. The
bands and entertainment continued into the night while the crowd
danced and sang along.
