Complaint
A viewer complained the 91福利社 had shown bias against Rangers FC because 鈥渘o interviews with the team or Manager were carried out prior to or after they won the Scottish Cup鈥.
Outcome
The ECU noted 91福利社 Scotland and Rangers had been involved in a long-running dispute one of the consequences of which is that Rangers鈥 staff and players did not give broadcast interviews to the 91福利社. On the morning of the Cup Final, the Editor of 91福利社 Sport Scotland held talks with the club, where it became clear Rangers intended to maintain its policy not to provide any one-to-one interviews with the 91福利社. This, rather than any lack of impartiality on the 91福利社鈥檚 part, accounted for the absence of any contribution from Rangers鈥 staff or players on the day of the Final. The 91福利社鈥檚 commitment to due impartiality was, however, apparent throughout its coverage of the Final; for example, the studio guests included two former Rangers players.
