Complaint
A listener complained the first headline of this bulletin, about an airstrike on Gaza, lacked impartiality because it failed to make clear at the outset who carried out the attack. The ECU considered whether the interview met the relevant standards set out in the 91福利社 Editorial Guidelines.
Outcome
The headline explained how more than 140 people had been killed in what had been described as some of the most intense bombing in recent months. It added 鈥渉ealth officials in the territory say 15 people were killed in a strike on a school housing displaced families in the north of the strip. Israel says it's been targeting Hamas鈥. In the ECU鈥檚 view this sufficed to make the nature and source of the attack clear. Two years on from the start of the conflict it was unlikely that many people were unaware of the provenance of the bombing of Gaza.
